Balkans Beyond Borders is celebrating its first two years of operation in the Balkans with a special FILM/MUSIC event that will take place in Belgrade on 6 of April, starting at 19:30am at REX Cultural Center, Jevrejska 16, 11000. With title “Let’s talk about last year’s big bad crises” the event is inspired by last year’s short film festival. The projected films are a selection from the Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival 2011 and the Film Making Workshops 2011 that had as title “Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Crises?”. Read more »
Balkans Beyond Borders extends the submission period until the 20th of May 2012 giving the opportunity to film creators from the Balkan region and beyond to continue their work on their short film. After further consideration and feed-back from prospective participants, the initial deadline for receiving submissions has been extended in order to allow those who wish to send their films to dedicate more time to the production of their films, hence ensuring a better quality of submissions. On the 16th and 17th of March, BBB had the opportunity to experience the Resonate, a new media festival. The festival took place in Belgrade at the cultural spot Dom omladine and lasted for two days. The idea of this, unique for the region festival, was to provide a platform for networking, knowledge sharing and education in the field of art and new technologies. It gathered plethora of artists, designers and bloggers who not only presented their work but also interacted with other artists and the audience. Read more »

Balkans Beyond Borders had the opportunity to participate with its representatives at the event “Life Learning and Volunteering” organized by the State Scholarships Foundation. The event took place at Technopolis in Athens as part of the European Year of Volunteerism on Thursday, the 15th of December. Visitors of all ages with majority the students wanted to learn as much as possible about BBB, its activities and the ways they can be involved.
