ATLAS E.P. brings accessibility to the 14th Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival – Athens Edition with the Cinema Together screening and panel discussion. The aim is to highlight the need for more accessible screenings, in an effort to make cinema accessible to all people, so that we can be Together at the Cinema.
In the context of the Cinema Together event, Balkans Beyond Border Short Film Festival will screen the medium-length film We all come from somewhere. The film was a result of the collaboration of four professional inclusive theater groups from Greece, Ireland, Italy and the Czech Republic, created within the framework of the POWER (www.power-creative.eu) programme of Creative Europe and with the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, bringing forth migrational experiences through film.
The film will be screened with subtitles for accessibility purposes, by ATLAS E.P., and followed by a panel discussion regarding accessibility and cinema, and funding difficulties such initiatives face in Greece, in the context of films, cinemas, and film festivals. ATLAS E.P. will partake in the discussion as a representative of the We all come from somewhere consortium, and representatives of financing institutions will join the panel discussion.
The panel discussion will be accompanied by simultaneous translation in Greek Sign Language.
