ΒΒΒ SPECIAL SCREENING: Youth and Labour/ Women and Labour

The 10th Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival “e-motions” will feature a special screening of Balkan films under two sub-themes: Youth and Labour / Women and Labour in order to shed light upon the issues that women and youth face nowadays in the labour market. The screening will take place the last day of the four-days festival on October 17-20 2019, in which young artists will present their perspective, experience or viewpoint while parallel events will take place in order to motivate the audience.

Through these stories we will meet characters who are forced to leave their country, persons who are experiencing exploitation and oppression at work or facing with dilemmas. These stories depict characters who absorb the political and economic problems of our time and struggle to survive in a harsh environment trying to achieve their goals.

The special screening Youth and Labour / Women and Labour is implemented through the Operational Program “Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning” and is co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund) and National Funds. Its co-funded projects deal mostly with the improvement of education and employment in Greece. Its main targets relate to the development and promotion of human resources skills, activities against unemployment, strengthen social cohesion and social inclusion of vulnerable social groups, improvement of the quality of education & lifelong learning, awareness on environmental education, linking education with the labor market.

The film tribute has free admission and it’s accessible to disabled people. KINITRO and HANDS UP will take the responsibility for the successful implementation of the accessibility and education of our staff.  The screening will have Greek subtitles and Greek subtitles for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
