17th Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival – Shift your gaze to the Unseen –
BBB Focus: Czechia
November 13th, 2026 | Greek Film Archive
The 17th Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival features the BBB Focus: Czechia, a special out-of-competition programme celebrating Czech contemporary cinema. This screening brings together four short films selected by the Newborn Short Film Agency and the NewBorn Short Film Festival, exploring the human experience through a variety of different perspectives, while also balancing between themes of personal exploration, identity, freedom and social conventions.
The lineup of films for this category, consisting of “Hey, Czechs!”, ”Forbidden” and “Lesya”, contributes to a multilingual cinematic landscape, where personal narratives meet broader social issues, ultimately unveiling the contemporary sensibilities and creative input of Czech cinema as a whole.
