BBB SPECIAL SCREENING: BBB & co – IZMIR INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

The Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival travels every year to a different location within the Balkans in order to present the work of young artists and facilitate its promotion at a regional and international level. Our organization has managed to build a basis of sustained cooperation with various youth organizations , film festivals, and institutions, aiming to expedite the interaction between the Balkan peoples and contribute to the amelioration of their relations.

With the intention of fulfilling the main purpose of our organization, we strive to create an active network of partners internationally, contributing to the further interaction and cooperation among the Balkans and the rest of the world.

This peculiar year Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival adopts a new form and becomes digital! The 11th BBB Short Film Festival changes destination and instead of going to Izmir, due to the cancelation of all physical events as safety measures for COVID-19 by the Izmir Governorship, it goes DIGITAL. All screenings will be live-streamed on Facebook and Youtube  following the Festival screenings programme and will be available only the days of the Festival from 1 to 4 October.

Izmir International Short Film Festival was initially organized in 2000 and it has been one of the most prominent short film festivals of Turkey ever since. Offering Golden Cat Award in the branches of fiction, documentary, experimental and animation to short films in international and national categories, the festival brings a strong competition programme aiming to develop the short film industry by inviting well-known and eminent professionals in the cinema sector from both Turkey and abroad as jurors. Therefore, the festival functions as a meeting point that brings the audience and film-makers together. Izmir International Short Film Festival continues to carry out its endeavors in order to contribute to the efficient representation of the short film-makers of Turkey on international platforms.
