BBB winning shorts & Co-production forum
On June 6 we had the pleasure to present Balkans Beyond Borders at the Adriatic Film Festival, by showcasing a special screening event that highlighted BBB’s mission of fostering dialogue, creativity, and cross-cultural exchange through cinema.
As part of the collaboration, two award-winning short films from the Balkans Beyond Borders programme were screened:
“Rooted in Code” (Slovenia, 13”) – BBB Best Film
A futuristic tale exploring human-robot coexistence in an urban permaculture garden, prompting questions about the future of ecological and technological symbiosis.
“Tradition” (Turkey, 15”) – BBB Audience Award
A touching narrative about resistance, memory, and human connection in the face of societal change.
The screenings were followed by an open discussion and Q&A session with the audience, creating a space for meaningful dialogue around the films. During the event, Veroniki Krikoni and Vasiliki Maltasoglou co-founders of Balkans Beyond Borders organisation were there to share BBB’s mission to break well rooted stereotypes in the Balkan region through the power of short films and create a hub of cultural expression and development for young creators.zz
