Mummy
documentary anthropological film
SYNOPSIS
The film focuses on the social life of ‘the Pyramid’, a building in the centre of Tirana constructed to become Enver Hoxha’s Mausoleum, that after having a number of different functions such as a cultural centre, a club and a TV channel, is under threat of demolition. Following the views of citizens of the city, it touches upon issues of historical and collective memory and social appropriation, as the significance of the Pyramid as a political signifier of the past as well as a structural point of coming of age in post-communist Tirana, is slowly revealed.
