Preselection Committee – 12th BBB Short Film Festival
BBB Preselection Committee is a team of young passionate professionals from the field of the film industry, film festivals and communication. They are from the Balkan region and they are entitled to watch thoroughly all film entries of the 12th BBB Short Film Festival and selecting the finalists in order to create the Competition Programme.

Rifat Erkek was born in Malatya, works and lives in Istanbul, Turkey. He graduated from Ankara University Department of Journalism. After graduating, he studied at Pittsburgh Filmmakers in the USA. When he came back to Turkey he completed his master’s degree in Cinema, Television, Radio Department of Istanbul University. He worked in various film, Tv and commercial projects. Also, he signed several short films with his crew. He and their crew won several awards at several
international and national film festivals. He is going on making films and photographs. Also, He is working at the media company as a communication specialist.
Valmira Gkioni was born in Albania and raised in Greece. She holds a BA in Broadcasting Journalism from the University of Wolverhampton and a Master’s in Contemporary Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Southern Denmark. With a strong interest in international relations, current affairs and social issues, through her studies, she focused on migration and human mobility from the North African and Middle Eastern (MENA) region. In 2017 she worked at the local NGO in Amman, Jordan, advocating for women’s rights where she explored ways in which NGOs and international organizations connect us with the world and respond to contemporary crisis contexts.
In 2018 she was part of the organizational team of the Human Rights Film Days organized by the European Union Delegation to Turkey, where she held the communication with the European filmmakers, activists and other participants of the film festival.
As a journalist, she has cooperated with the oldest English newspaper in Copenhagen reporting on current affairs.
She has lived in Albania, Greece, Denmark, Jordan and Turkey, and by meeting different cultures, languages, religions, she has developed a multicultural mindset and effective communication skills to collaborate in an international environment.
Jasmina Closca is a young artist working in performative and visual arts. She was born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where she lived until she moved to London to do a degree in film studies. It was there where she developed her interest in theory of spectatorship that motivated her to start a second degree in psychology in Cluj-Napoca. In 2020 she traveled to Santa Cruz, California, where she studied theatre production and theatre performance. After her studies, she moved back to her home town where she started a collaboration with Plankton Gallery. She is currently working on a number of individual projects that combine the concepts of video installation and performance, focusing on theory of image construction and spectatorship.
Born on April 20th, 1996 in Nikšić, Montenegro. Completed undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Drama Arts, Cetinje. Interested and experienced in working in all forms of multimedia productions. He has experience in screenwriting, directing, production, editing… During the studies he has directed five short fiction films, two short documentaries, music videos and commercials. Participates in production of many films (mostly student films) as 1st, 2nd AD…
Student films which he directed were screened at many international film festivals. Among those films „ Someone Else“ achived greatest success. Film was in selection of over 15 film festival such as Fribourg International Film Festival, BBB, Arte Mare, Filmski Front, Linea d’Ombra Film Festival… „Someone Else“ won prize for best film in student competition of Arte Mare film festival.
Ioanna is a freelance copywriter with a BA in English and American Literature from Deree – The American College of Greece. She’s very fond of cinema as an artform and its capacity to impart knowledge on multiple topics, so it’s no surprise that film festivals are her natural habitat.
Ermal Duli was born in Prishtina on October 23rd, 1999. He studies film at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prishtina and is the director of several films which he has worked on during his studies. Some of his films are: Black, Beautiful Pain, Devil’s Room, Mirror etc.
