The Athens Edition of the 14th BBB Short Film Festival has the pleasure to feature a special screening and networking event, Sunday January 13th, dedicated to Montenegro, the hosting country of the 14th BBB Short Film Festival – Edgetales, collaborating with the Film Center of Montenegro and the Embassy of Montenegro in Athens.
After the successful completion of the 14th BBB Short Film Festival – Edgetales in the beautiful city of Nikšić, Montenegro, this past October, the festival travels back to its hometown in Athens, aligning with the Twin Cities approach it has embraced in recent years. In the context of the Athens Edition, the festival collaborates with the Film Center of Montenegro and presents the screening section BBB twinning: Montenegro, with unique short films by emerging Montenegrin filmmakers, followed by a networking event hosted by the Embassy of Montenegro in Athens, in the foyer of the Greek Film Archive Foundation (Tainiothiki tis Ellados).
The Film Centre of Montenegro is a public institution, established in 2017 with the aim of creating the proper, stimulating environment for the Montenegrin film community and its promotion to Europe and the world. Its main activities cover: the management of the film fund; the support of new film productions; the promotion of Montenegrin cinema and its potential for international productions; training programmes for film professionals directed towards raising the level of their professional skills; as well as a series of activities around film festivals and film literacy. The Centre is also focused on promotion of Montenegrin filming locations and administers the process of Cash Rebate programme. Montenegro is a member of MEDIA and Eurimages.
