EthnoDoc I
Balkans Beyond Borders proudly presents BBB & Co: EthnoDoc, a special collaboration with the Athens Ethnographic Film Festival – Ethnofest. This event will feature a curated selection of documentaries from Ethnofest’s annual “Athens Summer School in Visual Ethnographic Practices” program, showcasing exceptional works by emerging filmmakers from previous years. Ethnofest’s Summer School is an annual educational program that offers participants an immersive experience in ethnographic filmmaking. Combining theory with hands-on practice, the Summer School brings together aspiring filmmakers, students, and professionals from around the world to explore the intersection of cinema and anthropology. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, participants learn to craft compelling narratives that delve into diverse cultures and human experiences. The program emphasizes fieldwork, creative collaboration, and the power of documentary filmmaking.
Through this partnership, EthnoDoc aims to foster a deeper connection between filmmakers and audiences, highlighting the vital role of documentary cinema in promoting cultural understanding and exploration.
