The Feast

 Nelly, a middle-aged woman, is tasked with preparing dinner for her husband Zura’s friends, celebrating Tamila’s return from abroad. Though hosting wasn’t Nelly’s idea, it has become her obligation to cook, set the table, and clean up, a routine she handles with perfection. Despite occasional invites to sit, the guests, including Tamila, expect her to remain in her role. A drunken toast is the only recognition she receives, offering little acknowledgment of her effort. When the guests leave, her duties continue as she serves her son, her own needs remaining unfulfilled. This short film captures the quiet exhaustion of a woman who is expected to serve without pause, her efforts taken for granted by those around her.
