Balkans Beyond Borders (BBB) announces the extension of the submission period for the 10th edition of BBB Short Film Festival which will take place in Athens in October 2019 to 15 June. We invite young artists up to the age of 35 from the Balkan region and beyond to get inspired by this year’s topic and send their film inspired by this year’s theme: e-motions. We accept all film genres with duration up to 30 minutes focusing on fiction, animation, experimental and documentary shorts, as well as digital arts.
Every year BBB chooses a theme aiming to inspire free artistic expression as well as enhance the free movement of ideas and images on current socio-political issues. This year the festival challenges motivation and filmmakers’ creativity through the title: e-motions. Our world is an open space. The issue of translocality is important in the process of transmitting and accommodating knowledge, memories, experiences and sentiments. Motion can bring change and emotions to our life. Therefore, we invite all artists to turn their mood on “e-motion” mode and share with us their short film.
BBB continues its “festival in motion” and on the occasion of its 10th anniversary it comes back to Athens. After nine successive years, BBB gives the opportunity to the next generation of filmmakers to create, share and present their films, meet, collaborate and create solid partnerships in the cultural sector. BBB Short Film Festival will give three awards: Best Film, Audience and First Entry Award. Successful filmmakers selected by our Preselection Committee will be contacted vie e-mail by the end of August.
