The 15th edition of the Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival is proud to present BBB Focus: Georgia, celebrating the rich cinematic traditions of Georgia. This special out-of-competition screening highlights the invaluable contributions of Georgian cinema.
Known for its unique blend of East and West influences, its films embody the cultural crossroads of the Caucasus, bridging political and artistic histories shared with Balkan countries. This collaboration promotes cross-cultural exchanges and strengthens ties within the broader European and Balkan filmmaking communities.

Kutaisi International Short Film Festival
Kutaisi, the second-largest and one of the oldest cities in Georgia, boasts a diverse historical and cultural heritage. From dinosaur footprints to the mythical tales of the Argonauts, alongside UNESCO-protected architectural monuments, Kutaisi’s significance as the ancient capital of Georgia for centuries is undeniable. Furthermore, it holds a 116-year-old tradition in filmmaking. The Kutaisi International Short Film Festival aims to bring cinema back to Kutaisi, reviving cultural life in the region and establishing an annual celebration of cinema. Focused on short films, the festival aims to discover and showcase new talents and voices in the film industry. It also seeks to underscore the importance and value of short films, to reignite public interest in this art form.
Taoba International Youth Film Festival
Taoba International Youth Film Festival brings together young filmmakers, film lovers, and industry professionals from around the world. Established in 2018 by the Culture and Education Foundation and the National Youth and Children’s Palace, Taoba is focused on promoting film education and the development of young audiences. The festival is held annually in Tbilisi, Georgia, and offers a platform for the discovery and promotion of new talent in the film industry. Taoba plays a vital role in introducing young audiences to a range of insightful and diverse films that they may not have otherwise encountered. By broadening their perspectives and prompting them to engage in critical thinking about their surroundings, the festival encourages young people to explore and understand the world around them. As such, Taoba is not only a festival but an educational platform that helps to nurture and cultivate the next generation of creative thinkers and artists.
