12th Edition BBB Short Film Festival, Pristina
‘Skin to (Screen to) Skin’
Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival after a journey of eleven years in Europe comes to Pristina, Kosovo for the 12th Edition with title ‘Skin to (Screen to) Skin’. The festival screenings will take place from Thursday, 28 to Sunday, 31 of October 2021 at Kino Armata.
Inspired by the issue of communication that was challenged through the pandemic, the festival will feature a Competition Programme of 33 short films representing young Balkan filmmakers. Our International Jury consisted of Burcu Biricik, Turkish actress, Luana Bajrami, French actress/director from Kosovo and Drita Llolla, Montenegrin Film Festival director will select the winning films for the Awards: BBB Best Film, First Entry and Special Mentions. The audience for one more year will vote through online voting for the Audience Award. The total amount of Awards goes up to 1.800€.
Additionally, three special screenings will frame the screenings programme: “BBB Beyond” (International Programme) ( Friday, 29/10), “BBB Focus- Hungary” (Saturday, 30/10) and BBB & co: Pristina International Film Festival and other partner festivals (Sunday, 31/10).
The audience and the invited stakeholders will have the opportunity to join the festival’s parallel events such as: ‘BBB meets the Cine-Balkan Females’, a parallel networking and experience sharing event at Kino Armata and “Gala of Curiosities” artistic exhibition as part of the project ECHO II “Traditions in Transition”, co-funded by Creative Europe. The exhibition will be hosted at the Faculty of Arts.
BBB Short Film Festival travels from city to city and triggers inspiration through its different thematic every year. It challenges contemporaneity by motivating young people to make use of their creativity, it breaks persisting stereotypes about what is and what is not ‘Balkan’ and provides an open floor for free expression and problem-solving. All participants become part of a cultural networking hub which helps them for future collaborations. The Festival is supported by Creative Europe and the Municipality of Pristina and collaborates with a great deal of cultural and youth organization in the region.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION: In order for the public to enter screenings, it is required to present a valid vaccination certificate/disease certificate/valid negative test in accordance with the provisions of the governmental regulations. The entrance is done with the use of a mask and by observing the distances both during the attendance and during the screenings.
